I recently became interested in laser shows due to the inexpensive diode lasers that are now on the market. To start out I ordered the Ramsey Laser Light Show Kit from www.ramseykits.com. It was a good basic kit with through instructions and is a nice introduction to simple circuitry and soldering. I did have to change some of the hardware as it was unsuitable. I replaced the electric motors with small PC fans and used double sided tape to attach small round mirrors I purchased at a hobby shop near me. I also took out the cheap two dollar red laser with a 50mW green laser pointer I bought on ebay and ordered a black plastic project box to contain the board. I customized the box with plexi-glass from a hardware store and bought sound wire to attach it to my PC. It works great now and I'm moving on to bigger and better things. My new laser system will use a 150mW green laser and real galvos with digital controls. If you have any ideas for cheaper sellers, especially control software, please let me know. Thanks and happy lasering!
